The harder you try — the worse you perform (biology of struggle)

They taught you:

“There are no results without effort.”
“Grit your teeth.”
“Force yourself.”

But your body doesn't work according to that logic.

Secret of #2: You can't fight and heal at the same time

When you struggle (with yourself, with food, with your body):

  • the sympathetic nervous system is activated
  • cortisol rises
  • the body goes into "survival" mode“
  • digestion and regeneration decline

This means:

Fighting and healing are physiologically incompatible.

Why overeating doesn't go away

Many people try to "overcome" overeating through willpower.

But:

  • more control → more tension
  • more voltage → more pulses
  • more impulses → more overeating

This is not a lack of discipline.
This is a result of pressure.

Wu Wei (unforced action)

The most powerful concept here is:

you don't force it — you cooperate

As a sailor:
you don't row against the wind → you set the sails.

Your body is the same.

Second move: notice the fight

The next time you feel tension, ask yourself:

Am I struggling right now?

Don't fix it.
Don't analyze.

Just notice.

“Aha… I’m fighting again.”

This already changes the state of the body.

Micro reset

Add one conscious breath:

  • deep breath
  • slow exhalation

It's like you're releasing tension.

You can do this 20 times a day.
