And it's not a bad diet. It's not a lack of discipline. It's not even a bad calorie count.
The biggest mistake is to try to overcome your body, instead of starting to cooperate with him.

When we put ourselves in a fighting mentality – “I have to overcome hunger”, “I have to overcome my body”, “I have to control myself” – we inadvertently trigger mechanisms that keep us in a vicious cycle.

Why fighting the body is always a losing battle

The idea that we have to fight our feelings, hungers, or needs creates internal conflict.

When we start to restrict food on a conscious level, the body experiences this as stress. And when the body is under stress, the old survival patterns – automatic responses that have helped us survive or calm down in the past.

For many people, these patterns say something very simple:
“Food calms me down. Food gives me a sense of security.”

This is not a rational decision, but a response of the nervous system.

How the vicious cycle of overeating occurs

When we forbid ourselves something or place strict restrictions on ourselves, tension is created in the body.

In a state of tension, the nervous system often switches to impulsive response, based on past patterns. This impulse can be:

sudden overeating,

craving for certain foods,

compulsive seeking of solace through food.

After the impulse, there is often another guilt:
Why did I let this happen? How did this happen again?

This does not break the cycle, but rather strengthens it.

And here's the point:
We cannot break this cycle with more discipline, more control, or more restriction.,
because it is precisely the restriction that triggers the stress response and consequently the impulse.

What is really happening in the body and nervous system

If we want to permanently break the pattern, we need to understand what is happening. below the surface:

Where does the pattern that food is soothing come from?

When was this mechanism useful?

Is it still functional today or is it harming us?

What is the unconscious “pay-off” that the body receives when it gets food?

What is the subconscious trying to protect or alleviate with food?

This is where the real work begins. Not at the level of calories or strict control, but at the level of nervous system, subconscious and root cause, which makes food a mechanism of regulation in the first place.

Why classical approaches fail

In the approach I use, we do not perform classical hypnosis as discipline or motivation training.
We do not teach:

additional calorie counting,

stricter rules,

more control,

even more “ban” strategies.

Such approaches address symptom, not the cause. They often further increase tension and thus the likelihood of impulsive behavior.

Instead, we deal with what restriction causes: tension and stress that activate old, unconscious patterns.

Key: The connection between stress and food

When we understand the connection between stress, the nervous system, and eating patterns, overeating can begin to dissolve. without a fight:

without constant supervision,

without coercion,

without obsessive calorie counting,

without a sense of giving up.

This is also the goal of the hypnotherapy program I run:
to unlock the core reason why the body uses food as a regulatory mechanism and gently change it.

When the root cause subsides, the need for food also subsides.

Conclusion

Losing weight and overcoming overeating are not battles with the will or the body. They are a process of understanding, regulating, and cooperating with the nervous system.

When we stop forcing our bodies to fight, something occurs that people often describe as “unusual lightness”:
food simply loses its power, impulses decrease, and binge eating cycles stop.

If you want, I can help you understand what your personal pattern is and what triggers it.

Uvod: zmota, ki jo dela večina ljudi Večina ljudi, ki želi shujšati ali prenehati s prenajedanjem, naredi isto napako.
